Painterly abstract artwork "Burning Patience", abstract digital art in abstract expressionism art style by Karin Kuhlmann.

Artwork Title: Burning Patience
Artist:
Karin Kuhlmann 2002
Medium: Digital Art
Art Style: Abstract Art, Expressionism

Description: The colorful, abstract illustration “Burning Patience” belongs to a series of abstract expressionist artworks titled “Love, Faith and Despair” from 2002/2003 and conveys the raw emotion of hope and brightness.

Series: Poetic Lyrical Contemplations. I worked on this series since 2000 to capture moments, moods and memories. The artwork “Burning Patience” is based on fractal flames, done with KPT5 FraxPlorer and artistically edited with Adobe Photoshop. The focus of these digital creations are color, subjective perceptions and emotions. An outstanding feature of this series in abstract expressionist style is the high translucency and the painterly quality of the images.
The high quality of the digital file allows large fine art prints up to 60 inch.

Burning Patience was the winning entry in the 3rd IDAA (International Digital Art Award) and received the 2003 IDAA Major Award, the “Laurence Gartel Award for Excellence.”
Read what
Steve Danzig, Executive Chair of the IDAA (International Digital Art Award) 2003 said about Karin Kuhlmann’s Art: »Karin is a German artist whose algorithmic (mathematical) art reflects early American Abstract Expressionism from the 1950's. There is strong organic symmetry in her composition and like the early abstractionists such as Pollock, Karin's art explores a higher conscious towards self mapping of personal and social conditions.«

The colorful, abstract illustration “Burning Patience” belongs to a series of abstract expressionist artworks titled “Love, Faith and Despair” from 2002/2003 and conveys the raw emotion of hope and brightness.
