Max Ernst, one of the leading surrealists of the 20th century said once something like
“...the lack of a picture on an empty sheet can only be forced
by developing a mechanism of poetical inspiration.”
His artistic process is known as Automatism and a stunning series of frottages
(from 1925) shows the characteristic interaction of technology and inspiration.
Working in this tradition but in the style of Abstract Expressionism and with the digital medium, I also use Automatism for my creative processes, in order to
release my inner pictures and to capture emotions, moods and memories. My abstract works are based on flames which are a kind of fractals. Usually I generate a
series of inspiring, organic forms and textures on transparent layers and combine it to delicate, bright, luminous translucent color fields. To achieve the
painterly quality each image has been individually and artistically designed with Photoshop. That makes each of my digital art works so unique and distinctive. The
works shown on this page belong to the series “Poetic Lyrical Contemplations” created since 2000. The high quality of my abstract digital works allows large fine
art prints up to 60 inch. Each print is individually printed from the original digital file and can be shipped worldwide.
